Bolt and Nut Manufacturing Ltd. is delighted to announce the appointment of James Hobbs as Production Director. James joined the business in March 2024, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his 18-year career in manufacturing.
In his new role as Production Director, James will oversee the Production Planning department, which is responsible for sales order entry and production planning. Additionally, he will provide technical support to various areas of the business, particularly in sales, estimating, and purchasing. James is also committed to achieving new industry and product-specific accreditations while maintaining the existing ones. A key project he is involved in is the implementation of a new ERP system, a significant investment by the company.
James’s extensive background in fasteners includes significant contributions to markets such as Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Renewable Energy, Nuclear, and Defense. His career in production planning started as a Trainee Production Engineer, where he spent nine years progressing to a fully trained Production Engineer before advancing into management. Two years ago, he was promoted to Technical Director, becoming part of the senior leadership team.
His expertise is not limited to production and operations; James has also managed the Certification department and provided technical support across sales, estimating, and quality assurance. He possesses in-depth knowledge of national and international fastener and material specifications, particularly API 20E/20F and Ministry of Defense standards 02-862 Parts 2 and 3.
Regarding his new role, James stated, “My primary objective is to ensure that we continue to meet both client and business requirements using a ‘right first time’ philosophy. Other objectives include achieving new industry/product-specific accreditations, maintaining existing accreditations, supporting the business in continuous market diversification, and ensuring the successful implementation of our new ERP system.”
