Quality Control Inspector

Bolt and Nut have a vacancy available for a Quality Control Inspector to work out of their Wolverhampton manufacturing facility.

The Quality Control Inspector will work as part of the Quality team to ensure that the products manufactured and supplied by Bolt and Nut Manufacturing, meet and exceed our customers’ requirements.

Duties to include but not limited to;

  • Inspection of incoming stock and goods being sent to or returned from subcontract suppliers
  • Inspection of machined items, to include first off, patrol and final inspection.
  • Final inspection of goods, before they are released for despatch to the customer
  • Providing cover and assistance to other members of the Quality Department
  • Conducting Hardness Testing
  • Assisting with Calibration system maintenance
  • Cooperate with employer on OH&S.
  • Do not interfere or misuse anything provided in the interest of health & safety.
  • Ensure PPE is worn when required.
  • Report any accident, near miss, hazard, defect or ill health immediately to employer.

It is essential that you have experience using thread gauges, micrometres, thread micrometres and shadowgraph.

Knowledge of inspection techniques and experience of maintaining quality records is also required, along with a good level of education and computer skills and the ability to read and interpret international standards and technical drawings

A good knowledge of threaded fasteners would be an advantage.

Hours of Work, 40 hours per week, and additional overtime when required. Salary Dependent on experience, to be reviewed after an initial three-month probationary period.

Capstan Lathe Setter Operator

BNML are currently recruiting a Capstan Lathe Setter Operator to join their team based in the West Midlands.

We are looking for someone who has the skills and experience to operate Landis Die Heads and well as experience with drilling and broaching components.

Duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Set and Operate Capstan Lathe Safely and Effectively.
  • Monitor Machinery and Report Problems.
  • Monitor Coolant Levels and Top up as required.
  • Ensure one’s own safety and that of others.
  • Cooperate with employer on OH&S training and guidance.
  • Do not interfere or misuse anything provided in the interest of health & safety.
  • Ensure PPE is worn when required.
  • Report any accident, near miss or ill health immediately to employer.

Essential Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in Fastener Industry or Recognised Qualification at level 2 or above.
  • Read and Understand Engineering Drawings.
  • Set and Operate Tangi-Flow Roller Box Attachment.
  • Set and Operate Fette heads.
  • Set and Operate Coventry Die Heads.
  • Experience with Grinding and Forming tooling
  • Experience with Exotic Materials (Inconel, Titanium, etc).
  • Knowledge of Inspection Techniques and Measuring Equipment.
  • Good communication skills.
